Learn to recognise cardiac arrest, deliver effective chest compressions and use a defibrillator — with hands-on practice and EFR certification.

Trainee performing CPR chest compressions on a manikin during a course

Why take this course

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is the most important first aid skill anyone can learn. When someone suffers cardiac arrest, every minute without help significantly reduces their chances of survival. The first minutes, before the ambulance arrives, belong to whoever is nearby — a colleague, a parent, a passer-by.

The Life on Line Academy CPR and defibrillator course prepares you for exactly those minutes. It is not a theory lecture: most of the time is spent practising on adult manikins, guided by a certified instructor, until the rhythm and depth of compressions become second nature.

You also learn to use an automated external defibrillator (AED) — devices we increasingly find in gyms, schools, shopping centres and workplaces. An AED is designed to be used by anyone, but training removes the hesitation and fear at the moment it matters.

On successful completion you receive Emergency First Response (EFR) certification.

How often should I renew my CPR certification?

Refresher training every two years is recommended, so your skills stay fresh and in line with current guidelines.

Do I need medical knowledge to take part?
